David Yuile – Chief Executive OfficerDavid is the Chief Executive Officer of AAPT, the Australian subsidiary of Telecom New Zealand , where he is tasked with leading the transformation of AAPT into an easy to use Business and Wholesale focussed service provider. His previous role was Chief Operating Officer at AAPT, where he successfully completed the integration of the AAPT-PowerTel businesses and was instrumental in the product and backoffice re-engineering and simplification.
Prior to AAPT, David held several roles including Director of Networks at PowerTel, Chief Executive Officer of 90 East - one of Australia’s largest providers of managed security services - and co-founder of Sales Technology which he sold to Interliant, a NASDAQ listed provider of managed infrastructure and consulting services.
David sits on the board of TransAct, which is an ACT telecommunications provider and the advisory board of Framehawk, which is a technology start-up business based in San Francisco. He holds a B.Engineering (Hons) degree from the University of Glasgow.
James Orlando – Chief Financial OfficerJames Orlando was appointed AAPT’s Chief Financial Officer of in May 2007. James previously held the role of PowerTel Chief Financial Officer, since May 2004.
Prior to his role with PowerTel and AAPT, James was Chief Financial Officer of Santera Systems Inc., a US-based telecommunications switching. Prior to Santera, James was Assistant Treasurer International and Project Finance at Lucent Technologies where he led a world-wide team responsible for originating the company’s multi-billion dollar vendor finance portfolio.
Stephen Dunne – General Manager, WholesaleStephen Dunne was appointed General Manager of Wholesale in May 2009.
Prior to this role, Stephen was Head of International Carriers for AAPT, a role he held since November 2007.
Before AAPT, Stephen was responsible for driving sales growth with key strategic partners at PowerTel. Stephen has over 14 years local and international experience in the IT&T industry.
Mark Rafferty – General Manager, Business SolutionsMark Rafferty was appointed General Manager of AAPT Business Solutions in May 2009. AAPT Business Solutions is responsible for sales and account management for AAPT’s business customers.
Before taking up this role, Mark was AAPT’s Queensland State Manager and, prior to that, PowerTel’s Queensland Manager. Before joining PowerTel Mark held senior sales roles with IntraPower Pty Limited and iExec Pty Ltd.
Michael Edwards - General Manager, Product & Technology Michael Edwards was appointed General Manager of Product & Technology for AAPT in July 2011, having previously held the positions of Head of Product from March 2007 to June 2008 and Head of IT from July 2008 to June 2011. Michael has lead a number of significant projects within AAPT, most notably the successful decommissioning of the AAPT MEGA mainframe platform completed in March 2011.
Prior to AAPT, Michael was General Manager of Product Marketing & Strategy at PowerTel and, following the merger with AAPT, was responsible for the system and product portfolio rationalisation of the merged company. Before taking a role in product, Michael was the OSS/BSS architect at PowerTel, and prior to that, held the same role at Request Broadband. Michael has over 12 years of IT and engineering experience within the telecommunications industry and holds a B.Engineering (Computer Systems, Honors, 1st Class) and B.Applied Science (Computer Science).
Art Cartwright - General Manager, Customer Service and InfrastructureArt Cartwright was appointed General Manager of Customer Service and Infrastructure in July 2011. In this role, Art manages the end-to-end customer technical experience. This ranges from pre-sales consulting through to post-sales servicing.
Art has over 20 years of experience in the IT&T industry. He has led a number of significant projects within AAPT, most notably the successful implementation of the new national IP/MPLS and intercapital networks.
Prior to his current role, Art was Head of Infrastructure Services and Operations Engineering at AAPT, and General Manager of Operations Engineering for PowerTel. Art holds a Bachelor of Science Electronic Engineering from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
